Zid Integration

Connect your Zid store to Orki so your AI agents can access your product catalog and assist customers with shopping in Arabic and English.

What is Zid?

Zid is a leading e-commerce platform in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. It's particularly popular in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries, offering Arabic-first e-commerce solutions.


What This Integration Does

Once connected, your AI agents can:

  • Search your Zid product catalog
  • Recommend products in Arabic or English
  • Send product carousels on WhatsApp
  • Access real-time pricing and availability

Prerequisites

Before connecting Zid, ensure you have:

  • A Zid store
  • Admin access to your Zid dashboard
  • API access enabled in your Zid plan

Connecting Zid

Follow these steps to connect your Zid store to Orki.

Step 1: Access Integrations

Go to Products in the Orki sidebar.

Step 2: Click Connect Integration

Click the "Connect Integration" button.

Step 3: Select Zid

Choose Zid from the available integration options.

Step 4: Authorize with Zid

You'll be redirected to Zid to authorize the connection.

Step 5: Log In to Zid

If not already logged in, enter your Zid credentials.

Step 6: Approve Permissions

Zid will show the permissions Orki is requesting. Click "Approve" to authorize.

Step 7: Return to Orki

You'll be redirected back to Orki automatically.

Step 8: Verify Connection

Confirm the connection status shows as "Connected" in Orki.

Step 9: Wait for Initial Sync

Orki will automatically begin syncing your products. This may take a few minutes depending on your catalog size.

Step 10: Test in Playground

Go to Playground and test product searches in both Arabic and English to verify the integration.

Bilingual Support

Zid stores often have bilingual content, which Orki fully supports:

Arabic Content

  • Product names and descriptions in Arabic sync correctly
  • AI can respond in Arabic about products
  • RTL (right-to-left) text is handled properly

English Content

  • English translations sync if available in Zid
  • AI can switch between Arabic and English based on customer language

Sync Behavior

Automatic Sync

Products sync automatically:

  • When you first connect
  • Periodically throughout the day
  • When product changes are detected in Zid

Manual Sync

To force an immediate sync:

  1. Go to Products
  2. Find the Zid integration
  3. Click "Sync Now"

Managing Synced Products

Viewing Products

Zid products appear in your Products grid with:

  • Source column showing "Zid"
  • Arabic and English names (if available)
  • All synced product information

Editing Products

Zid products are read-only in Orki. To update:

  1. Make changes in your Zid dashboard
  2. Wait for automatic sync, or trigger manual sync
  3. Updated data appears in Orki

Product Status

Control whether Zid products are available to AI:

  • Active: AI can search and recommend this product
  • Inactive: Hidden from AI searches

Toggle status directly in Orki — this doesn't affect your Zid store.


Disconnecting Zid

To remove the Zid integration:

  1. Go to Products
  2. Find the Zid integration
  3. Click "Disconnect"
  4. Confirm the disconnection
What Happens When You Disconnect
  • Synced products are removed from Orki
  • AI can no longer access Zid products
  • Your Zid store is not affected

Troubleshooting

Products Not Appearing

  • Verify the connection is active
  • Check that products are published in Zid
  • Try a manual sync
  • Ensure products aren't hidden or draft status

Arabic Text Not Displaying

  • Verify your browser supports Arabic text
  • Check that product data exists in Arabic in Zid
  • Clear browser cache and refresh

Connection Lost

If the connection shows as disconnected:

  1. Click "Reconnect"
  2. Re-authorize in Zid
  3. Wait for products to sync again

Missing English Translations

English translations only appear if they exist in your Zid store. Add translations in Zid to have them sync to Orki.
